Due Date review

Posted : 13 years, 5 months ago on 16 November 2010 12:02 (A review of Due Date)

Not great.

However didn't really matter as I caught myself drifting off drooling at the extreme SWOONWORTHY RDJ. Amaze.

ZZZZ

Pretty awful. Overly long and boring. Special points though for three Cole Porter references in the first two minutes.

Properly awful and dull. Would have been made better if the wife had been played by Dannii Minogue rather than a lookalike. Wanted to leave after 30 minutes.

Cold Souls review

Saw this at the London Film Festival - found it very slow and dull. A few laughs but almost sent me to sleep

Lengthy

Posted : 14 years, 7 months ago on 24 September 2009 08:17 (A review of The Phantom of the Opera)

The costumes and the choreography was a delight, but the main problem with this Phantom adaption is that it's just far too long. I really loved the last thirty minutes or so but it didn't need to take 2 hours to get to that point.

Cute

Posted : 14 years, 7 months ago on 21 September 2009 11:26 (A review of (500) Days of Summer)

Undeniably cute, but dragged a little bit in the middle.

Above all there is little to say but:

WORST LAST LINE EVER

WEEP

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 26 May 2009 12:20 (A review of Two Lovers)

We foolishly went to see this thinking it was a bit of an easy Sunday night film. WARNING - it is not.

Joaquin mumbles
Gwen flashes a boob

The end result is so depressing you will end up with no hope in true love and want to top yourself.

FULLY AMAZING

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 26 May 2009 12:10 (A review of De-Lovely)

I love this film. When I saw it it made me bawl my eyes out and I went round telling people it was the saddest film ever made for years. The relationship between Cole & his wife though. Wah!

Anyway it introduced me to Cole Porter's music and it's gorgeously presented throughout the film thanks to a number of cameos. My favourite Porter version on the soundtrack is Kevin Kline & John Barrowman's uber intense duet of 'Night & Day'. I"d love to hear it in full.

AMAZING.
